It was once a lively hotel filled with vacationers and ornate furnishings.
The high-rise was a jewel in the downtown Fort Myers skyline.
But that was before years of disputes and financial problems closed the doors, turning it into a perpetual eyesore along the Caloosahatchee riverfront
Fast-forward eight years, and the 24-story building is mostly stripped naked and shrouded in darkness. But walk through the main entrance into the high-ceiling lobby with a huge chandelier, and images of that storied pas clearly linger.
